i'm not sure when this started, but my mom has called me the city mouse and kleine schwester (that means "little sister" in german, btw - have i ever told you guys that?) the country mouse for years and years. you know, from aesop's fables?!
and look at that: i live in chicago, and t lives in well, not the country exactly, but a suburb that still boasts some dirt roads, and she ventures into the michigan countryside almost every day to ride her horse ... in her chevy silverado. turns out my mom knows her daughters pretty well.
i can't even remember what the moral of the original story is, but my moral is that we all have a bit of city and country mouse in us, and it's important (and fun) to embrace both.
like i could use a little of this right now
and luckily sometimes my "city" view? looks like this
it's all about balance, right?

I always say I am a country mouse stuck in the city...although as cities go, Chicago does have a nice bit of nature!
ReplyDeletei definitely have a bit of both in me. i have moments where i must ESCAPE to the country :) hehe
ReplyDeletehehe this mouse does not have much city in her, unless it is to go and see promises, promises :)
ReplyDeleteLove, Country Mouse
