there's something about the date - september 1 - that always makes me think of back to school. i doubt i've ever even started on september 1 exactly, and summer obviously doesn't really come to an end until the 23rd, but something about this date always switches my gears to fall. the minute labor day weekend is over, i'll be fully ready.
