grateful: week 33

inspired by my reading of the happiness project by gretchen rubin, i am instituting monday "gratitude" posts (read here for more detail), where i will list "3 things i'm grateful for" from the previous week.

the 3 things i'm grateful for this week are:

1) i'm all decorated for christmas!

2) had an amazing weekend with my visitors. 

3) today is st. nicholas day!  for those thinking i just made up a holiday, i swear i didn't!  here's wikipedia to the rescue, but the gist is it's a european festival celebrating a saint known for bringing gifts to children.  if that sounds familiar, yes, santa is often considered a derivation of saint nicholas (aka st. nick!).  the combination of my austrian heritage & 15+ years of german language studies means that "sankt nikolaus tag," is a day i like to acknowledge.
 

 

anyone get a visit from st. nicholas last night?  check your shoes ;)
