"i am younger each year at the first snow. when i see it, suddenly, in the air,
all little and white and moving, then i am in love again and very young and i believe everything."
- anne sexton, in a letter to w.d. snodgrass, november 28, 1958, found in real simple, december 2010
it is far past the first snow in these parts, but we've gotten some interesting wintery mixes this week (i've almost wiped out at least 3 times on black ice, good grief!), so snow is never far from my mind...

We are covered in the white stuff over here...thanks for reminding me to look at snow through the eyes of a child!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! Makes winter look glamorous. :)
ReplyDeleteWe've gotten a lot of gross icy/snowy weather too... but these pics make it all look so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThe quote about reminds me of my walk to work yesterday. It's been snowing a lot here (NYC) lately, and I'm getting pretty dang tired of it! I was all cranky walking to work, then I pass a mom pulling her little daughter on a sled. The little girl was picking up fresh snow and rubbing it all over her face. It was the cutest thing ever. My mood cheered after that:)
ReplyDeletethe zhush - you are welcome! i know it's hard to do sometimes
