tonight is the night of the joffrey ballet's pointe of departure art exhibition. i won't keep harping on it, but i do want to say that what i'm most excited about is the fusion of different art forms all in one event and all benefiting each other by their mutual exposure. exposure to art is a beautiful thing.
i can't help but think of the brilliant black swan, which allowed film and dance to coexist in an unprecedented way. similarly, fashion and ballet have been pulling facets from each other in the wake of the movie. the most stunning example of this is the images from vogue russia, february 2011, featured below.
