spring bloom.

on one of our 80 degree days last week (!), i took an evening stroll through the neighborhood streets of lincoln park, camera in tow.  i could not believe how much was already in bloom.  i mean, does the earth even know it's march in chicago?!

feeling dancy and twirly. 

last thursday i went with a friend to the american ballet theatre's perform of giselle here in chicago. our giselle that night was played by none other than julie kent, the phenomenal principal dancer for abt for over 2 decades.  she practically floated around the stage.  you might remember her as kathleen from center stage - if you'll admit to liking that movie as much as i do!  

i was, and still am, in awe of her.  julie is 43, with 2 kids.  i don't think i have to tell you how rare and special that is for a prima ballerina's career.

today i am grateful for:

lots of little joys: going to the ballet on thursday, a photography class, the hunger games on saturday, and, of course, the season 5 premiere of mad men on sunday.

kind of hard to believe that easter is right around the corner.  (i mean, really?!).  i've had my eye on quill + fox design for some time now, after i came across this adorable christmas card, and i fell in love with her vintagey easter designs immediately.  family members can expect to receive some of these in a few weeks ;)

lauren conrad.

i have to admit, i am nursing a serious girl crush on lauren conrad these days.  i think i'm a littlelot jealous of her life.  hello best-selling author, fashion mogul and style icon.  hmph.  her recent feature on the coveteur definitely did nothing to help.
