i popped over to the green city market a couple saturdays ago and came back with ingredients for a simple, perfect fall lunch.
- honey crisp apples from ellis family farms
- baguette from bennison's bakery
- original baked cheese from brunkow cheese
slice the apples very thin.
slice the cheese and bread thinly as well.
butter one side of the bread, then you're ready to assemble in a frying pan over medium heat.
cheese on first. then apples.
keep the sandwiches over heat until the bottom of the bread is a golden brown and the cheese has started to melt, anywhere between 5 & 10 minutes.
serve with your favorite tomato soup.
and maybe even a craft beer (pictured here, a favorite of ours: diabolical by north peak brewing company from traverse city, michigan).
enjoy!
