5 Questions With | Fig + Honey.

Welcome to a brand new series for my brand new blog: 5 Questions With, a way to introduce you to my favorite bloggers who may not be on your radar yet - but should be :) 

First up: Anjanee of Fig & Honey.  

(1)  Tell us a bit about Fig & Honey and why you began the blog

Fig & Honey came about really with a combination of things.  My professional background is Social Media so naturally frequenting blogs was a favorite past time of mine. Especially all things dealing with food. Back then I unfortunately had little time to dedicate to running a blog let alone developing new recipes and working on my photography. However in late 2011, my husband and I relocated to Köln, Germany for work and I found myself with a lot of time on my hands! 

What better opportunity to embrace what I love - food, travel and photography. So Fig & Honey was born.  Since then I've been lucky enough to travel the world, develop my photography skills and spend my days cooking and baking! 

Fig & Honey is really about inspiring others to start making their own food and experimenting.  With so many people eating out and finding less and less time to get dinner on the table, the country is getting larger and having more health issues. I want people to know that cooking can be easy and the results are worth the time! 

With my natural wanderlust and with my growing addiction to photography,  Fig & Honey gave me the outlet to share my experiences of the world. I hope it inspires others to try new things, accept new cultures and perhaps understand the world a little more! 

(2) You currently live in Germany, allowing you lots of fabulous European travel opportunities (of which I am most definitely jealous!). Where in the world are you most itching 

to go that you haven't yet been, and why?

That's a difficult one. The more I travel the more I realize how much of the world is still left to explore. There are so many places that I haven't yet been that I'm dying to visit. In general, I feel as though I haven't been able to explore enough of Asia.  

Specifically, I would love to visit India.  I am Indian (technically), but somehow have never had the opportunity to visit the country. I must admit, I am a little nervous to visit, but I think my curiosity will ultimately win. I can't wait to see the hustle and bustle of the cities. The color, smells, and tastes. I also would love to see the villages - unspoiled by the ideals of the western world. One day! Hopefully soon.

(3) Fill in the blank: "One thing Fig & Honey readers don't know about me is __________?

I have lived and worked in three of the seven continents of the world. I still have a few more to go, but not sure I can handle the icy cold of Antarctica. I'm more of a warm weather type of girl.

(4) List three material possessions you cannot live without

My Sonicare toothbrush - I am obsessive about brushing my teeth. Weird, I know! My husband accidentally left it in a hotel in Brussels once - lets just say he was very lucky that they shipped it back to us with no issues!  

My handwoven Turkish throw blanket - I am always cold.  It doesn't matter how hot it is outside, I always need my blanket.  It makes watching movies so much cozier and the rainy German winters slightly easier! 

My Camera- I know it sounds cliche and all, but over the years I've become attached to it.  After long absences from it, I find myself itching to capture the world and my latest food creations.
